THE GLUE – A CAPPELLA MADE IN SWITZERLAND
They just played in front of 20’000 spectators at the Taichung Jazz Festival in Taiwan, performed in the great Music Center at Strathmore near Washington DC, gave a concert at the festival of the Ndebeles-kingdom in South Africa, at the “Voicemania” in Vienna and the “Vokal Total” in Munich, reached the 4th place at the World Cup Competition in Taipeh as well as at the “Internationales a-cappella Festival” in Leipzig and won the “2nd prize” and the prize for the “best original song” at the “Harmony Sweepstakes Competition” in New York.
2010 they got to the swiss finals (Top 5) for the “European Song Contest” and were awarded the “Kulturpreis Basel-Landschaft”.
Before that they already performed at the FIFA World Cup 2006 in Germany, the UEFA European Football Championship 2008 in Switzerland, were musical actors, mouth athletes, a boyband…
Yes! in 15 years you may achieve a lot. But the big strength of those five lads from Basel (Switzerland) is, that they only did, what they really felt for, and their success proves them right.
Their specialty, next to their self written songs reflecting the entire width of the band’s musical genres, is their unconventional performances. The Glue astounds no matter the setting.
The 5 young men have already produced four albums, a single and a DVD, all while having been on stage over seven hundred times worldwide.

Starting in the Knabenkantorei Basel, where the conductor was – at the beginning – not very pleased by the ambitions of the ensemble, continuing with mingel-ins of managers and agents, mostly the group refused any suggestions, especially concerning principal changes in the bands manner.
An important role thereby plays the wide range of interests among the members: musically, vocally but also and foremost privat. If you saw them solitary, you wouldn’t reckon they’re playing music together and even less a-cappella music, which has – at least in german countries – still the nimbus of clean and well-mannered behaviour.
The management they do themselves since ever. They write their own songs and lyrics, start their own PR campaigns, and get professional help from when it is needed.
Really typical swiss? There you have to know that only one of them is a full swiss. Four half swiss, that makes two foreigners, but in a group of five, three is still a majority.
